I had a brunch (or breakfast) with my friend at The Noodle in Rowland Heights this morning. She always liked this place, so we decided to go there. We got there around 10:30 a.m. and they still had the breakfast menu till 11 a.m. We both chose the porridge breakfast combo. (around $14.99) She picked the preserved egg and pork congee with 2 other options (she picked a rice noodle roll with mixed sauce and soy sauce fried noodles), while I chose sliced fish congee, a rice noodle roll with mixed sauce, and fried noodles. The food was pretty good; the congee's texture and taste were on point. The soy sauce fried noodles were on the sweet side, but it was not too hard or too soft. The rice noodle rolls were stuck together, but the mixed sauce was good. They now have ALL DAY Special for dine-in only costs $11.99 per entree. They also have to-go options for one item combo starting at $6.99, 2 items combo $7.99, and 3 items combo for $8.99 or mix combo for $9.99. Their food was not bad, but I don't know why I don't always go there; I cannot recall that there's a noodle place there. (same parking lot as 168 market) Service was pretty good and fast, and the server refilled my lemon tea.

Here for the holiday weekend and my father and I decided to try their all day special items. We opted for their Salt & Pepper Pork Chop, Beef & Bitter Melon and Fish & Vegetables. Everything came out quick. The waitress was nice, it's a medium size place that is clean. They also offer prepared meats that you can purchase by weight.

Picked up my parents in the 626 and we decided to make a pit stop here for dinner. I gotta admit, I didn't really look forward to coming here again, but I'm glad I did. Not sure what happened, but maybe the sifu was working a few nights ago. My wife and I agree that the food was SO much better this time. My wife and I shared a beef chow fun. It was excellent compared to last time. Perfectly seasoned, heavy on the wok hei. I also decided to order braised beef brisket and to be honest, it didn't look very promising when it got dropped off. But as they say, you can't judge a book by it's cover. The brisket (rough/drop flank) was SO tender. For those who know, this cut of beef is known to be VERY chewy and tough, so it needs to be cooked long and slow. A splash of dark soy sauce would really make it look more visually appealing, but that's me being nitpicky. I literally just ate the rest of it as leftovers tonight and it was still just as good! Only downside is the portion size vs cost. Really wish the beef chow fun came with more, but at least it was tasty! I look forward to coming back here again at some point!

I'm not sure why this place has poor reviews because I really enjoyed my meal. I ordered the bbq special noodle and built my own bowl: egg noodles, tomato fish broth, roasted duck, and bbq pork. They put a decent amount of bbq pork but there wasn't as much duck meat as I had hoped. The egg noodles were chewy and cooked perfectly and the broth was piping hot and flavorful. It had a mild flavor and I started wanting something spicy so I started adding sriracha at the end and it tasted even better. It has a small amount of napa cabbage but a hefty amount of noodles. I also tried some of the wontons and they were delicious too. Each one had a small shrimp and was stuffed with minced meat. The waitresses helped us right away and the food came out quickly. Most people ordered their food to-go so the dine-in area was fairly empty but very clean and spacious.

Competition has been good for the customers of The Noodle. I used to think they were pretty good, but, expensive. With all the "cha chaan tengs" opening in the area, The Noodle has been forced to lower their prices. They now have a breakfast special and afternoon tea like other restaurants in the hood. They have a "daily special" of wonton noodles with either beef stew or char siu for on $9.99. Their $9.99 beef stew wonton noodle soup here is a winner. It is a Cantonese beef stew with wontons and noodles. The beef stew is cooked perfectly tender with a great flavor. The wontons are on the smaller side, but, is full of pork and shrimp. The wontons are one of the better Cantonese ones in the area. The noodles are cooked perfectly al dente. This $9.99 special cannot be beat in this area. Do not make the mistake of ordering their beef stew wonton lo mein (which also comes with soup). Their lo mein costs $16, but, they give you the $9.99 special. I like that they have lowered their prices. So far, I'm loving their $9.99 special. Yes, I will be back fi they continue to offer it.

I used to not be a big fan of the Cantonese cafes but they are growing on me. Tried The Noodle last week and had a chance to try 3 different dishes. They are known for noodles (duh?) so check out the Custom Noodle Soup section of the menu. Pick your soup base, noodle type and ingredients. We got the pork broth, rice noodles with beef brisket, beef tendon and beef ball. We also got the curry beef brisket lunch special. The curry is more of a Singaporean curry profile and it was surprisingly tasty for me. Lastly, we got the lunch special wonton noodles plus spare ribs (see the photo of the $9.99 poster in the window). Also tasty and you need to have egg noodles with wontons. They also sell Cantonese BBQ items to go a la Sam Woo but I only like the 'cha shau' as far as Cantonese BBQ meats. Would be back to get the curry beef brisket again and looking forward to trying the congee as it should be good since Cantonese restaurants are all usually know for legit congee. Like with other Chinese restaurants, don't expect much service just as long a the food is good, that is what matters. Lastly, they have a spend $50 and get a free bowl of noodles on your next visit promo right now. The sign is only in Chinese and its on the fish tank when you walk in. Look for the $50. And, the lunch special menus are all in Chinese too (Boo!)

My Taiwanese buddy brought me here for lunch after golf in Rowland Hts. I liked the food so much, I bought char siu, roast duck and roast pork to take home. Two of the many items we had for lunch were shrimp & eggs, and yukh beng (steamed pork patty w/ ferented fish). Both were very good, as was the rest of the food. In addition, the deli items were really tasty. The char siu was moist, and the duck skin & roast pork skin were nice and crispy. Regarding the ambiance, its your typical Chinese restaurant with tables of 2, 4 and a couple of rounds like the one we sat at (there were 8 of us. The deli items were hanging in the window, and were very enticing as evidenced by how much I bought. Our waitress was really nice, and my buddy was able to converse with her in Mandarin. Most of the staff also spoke Cantonese. All in all, a pleasant experience in the heart of SGV. I would definitely return when I am in the area.

We ordered two items for to go. Two words: so good I would recommend the sliced roasted pork and steamed chicken. However, there's a promotion for the chicken: buy one get one free, so we got the whole chicken for $22.88, which is not bad. The regular price is a bit overpriced. Hands down for the sliced roasted pork. The skin was very crispy and the meat was chewy and juicy. It was just perfect! Will come back for the roasted pork for sure.
